Manipulation Is My Biggest Pet Peeve

Someone recently asked me what the most challenging situation I have ever been in was. My reply was when someone close to me lies to me and to try to remain in a place of compassion and understanding for why they are doing what they are doing. To take the higher road. To keep the spiritual perspective and realize they are lying to themselves too. Sometimes I wanna remind them (and often I do...) like...you know what I do for a living right? That the human body is a physical lie detector? I do not allow them to get what they want through the manipulation. Then it's enabling which isn't going to break their habit. It's very close to addiction. Authenticity is a really big theme in the collective and it's way easier to just tell the truth. Starting with one's self.
